DescriptionAiDaNews is back! AiDaNews2 is the next step in the direction of an easy and versatile Joomla! Module that lets everyone, from experts to novice webmasters, show their articles in an appealing and higly-customisable way. The module has been rewritten from scratch starting from Joomla!'s own latestnews module, and this rework resulted in a much more elegant and lightweight code. Now AiDaNews follows the MVC pattern (so the articles are retrieved in an helper file and displayed using a template file), passes the W3C code check without an error, uses CSS files instead of style tags (but mantains the possibility of styling the module right from the backend!), has CSS classes for every element (and even special classes for first/last element and such) and is overall a much more reliable and correct module from the point of view of the code. This isn't only a 'debug' though: AiDaNews2 has lots of new features that will make the users' life easier. Pre-made styles will rapidly make the module match every kind of site, and will allow experts to create their own configurations that can be shared between groups of modules making manteinance easier. Layout positions have been extended from 5 to 9, and their appearance and position can be changed through css with endless possibilities. The module now uses a css file, but css can also be inserted from the module's backend (and you can even use a css file and then add some additional CSS rules for each individual istance). The module's backend has been slightly modified to be easier to navigate: tabs have been divided into categories, and their titles are now more descriptive. The module contains many more additions: secondary ordering, up to three images that can be individually linked to articles, profiles, categories and so on, tableless grid layout... and all the options that made AiDaNews so peculiar. So here's AiDaNews2: a complete debug and adjustment of the first iteration of the module, with the addition of many useful options that will satisfy any need. Everything with the simplicity of descriptive tips right in the backend, or (finally!) the possibility to read through a huge amount of FAQs and explanations in the Module's Documentation on Aimini.it. Changelog: Version 2.1.1 - Quick IMG Fix Version 2.1.0 - Christmas Gift, one month later Remember you need to have PHP5 installed on your server for AiDaNews2 to work properly! How to Install/UpgradeAiDaNews2 is an upgrade to AiDaNews "1.0", but anyway it isn't backwards compatible.The two modules are really similar for functions and appearance, but the code running behind the scenes has been completely changed in this new version, thus making a normal upgrade impossible. If you're already using AiDaNews"1" on you website, you can simply install AiDaNews2. The two modules will work as two unrelated entities, so you can actually use them both at the same time, even if I don't recommend it. There's no way to bring settings and styles from one module to the other, so you'll need to arrange them the way they were from the beginning. I'm sorry for this, but I hope you'll enjoy the polish and the new options. If you already installed AiDaNews2 and suddenly a new version comes out, simply install it over the old one. Don't uninstall the older version, if not stated otherwise in the description - this way, you won't lose all your settings! Previous VersionsThese packages are still available for everyone, but I don't recommend you using older versions of AiDaNews on your website. Please don't ask support for old versions of the extensions, or you will simply be asked to update to the latest version.

mmh I thoght I added the css classes in the 1.5 version too, but I noticed it's not the case. I'll add them in v 2.1.0... but then you'll have to edit the CSS yourself to suit your needs ;)
Hi Danilo,
I meant that if (sectionid=5) for example { titles to be in red }, all titles from just this section needed in red color .
Hi,
every element in AiDaNews2 has a specific CSS class, and many of them also have additional classes for categories and such. Use Firebug for Firefox and you'll be able to style every element easily in no time ;)
---
I don't know why justify doesn't work - try adding a width value...
I have a suggestion if you can add an option named Color titles so we can chose specific section or category needed to be colored or bold for example..
Thank You.
I have changed:
"STYLE ~ CSS Values & pre-made stylings" =>
"Get Style from" => "Style Field"
and added the tag_
.aidanews2_text { text-align: justify; }
in the box.
But doesn't work.
(Other tags I have added worked, but this tag doesn't).
Can you help me? (Sorry for my english)
this module gets better and better ! - something id really like to see is support for Disqus as the commenting system - i dont think its possible as a 'custom' comments option as the comms arent stored on the local DB?
